R.D. Jukes & Co. Ltd were engaged to design, supply, install and commission the electrical and associated services package to a new Community Diagnostic Centre at Stratford-upon-Avon Hospital.

The works comprised of a single storey extension to the existing ‘Building One’ on the north-west unused grassed area of Stratford Hospital, and a small area of refurbishment works to the existing Lomas Suite. The substructure and superstructure were designed to accommodate a future two-storey vertical extension on top of the proposed CDC.

The new facility is part of NHS England’s national Community Diagnostic Centre programme, which aims to provide a range of elective diagnostic tests away from acute hospital sites, easing pressure on hospital services and improving patient access, offering mammography, ultrasound, respiratory, cardiology and CT services to local residents.

The scope of works for the electrical and associated services comprised of the design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and certification of the following disciplines:-

• Modification of existing Low Voltage Switchgear
• Sub-mains Cabling to LV Distribution equipment, MRI, and CT machinery
• New LV Distribution Equipment with Energy Metering to BS EN 62053
• Cable support and Containment systems
• Main earthing Terminal and associated equipotential earth bonds
• Medical Earthing systems
• General and Emergency Lighting systems
• Examination Lighting
• Utility Power systems
• Nurse Call and Medical Trunking systems
• Structured Cabling systems for Data and Voice
• CCTV systems
• Door Access Control systems
• Fire Detection and Alarm
• Testing, commissioning, labelling and certification
• Operation and Maintenance Manuals and associated As Fitted documentation.
