RD Jukes Ltd

The project involved the reinforcement of the existing High Voltage (HV), Low Voltage (LV) and standby generation infrastructure to the Hospital site to provide a more resilient electrical distribution network.

R.D. Jukes acted as principle contractor on this scheme, responsible for site set up, management, health and safety, electrical, mechanical, specialist, civils and builder's works.

Existing 2 No. HV/LV transformers (1000kVA & 500 kVA) were replaced with 2No 1250kVA HV/LV transformers complete with associated cabling for distribution to a new LV switchboard.

Standby generating equipment has also be upgraded to provide short term G.59 synchronisation with the mains supply, for no - break return and testing.

A new main LV switchboard has been supplied, installed, tested and commissioned. This is located within a new switch room, which was constructed as part of the project. The existing LV switchboard was removed, once transformer and generator upgrades had been completed and LV distribution sub-main cables emanating from the existing LV switchboard were transferred to the new switchboard.

Mechanical services modifications included domestic water services, LTHW heating and ventilation services that have been diverted and provided to facilitate the new switch room construction and LV Switch panel works.

The existing mechanical /motor control centre panel has been replaced with a new control panel which incorporates the latest Schneider BMS Smart Struxureware systems.

R.D. Jukes & Co. Ltd. worked collaboratively with the Services Design Consultant, Client and our supply chain to successfully deliver this project.
