The works comprised of the remodelling of a first floor ward to form an in house NHS pharmacy, store facility, offices and ancillary areas. Remodelling of internal walls, to provide pharmacy storage facility with racking, offices and ancillary areas.
Work was carried out in phases to minimise disruption to buildings occupants, staff and patients decanting the existing storage areas into the new storage facility to allow room for the remaining remodelling works.
The existing building remained fully operational throughout the term of the contract, with access to and from the site through the existing hospital, with minimal disruption to the functioning of hospital services. This involved particular attention to the management and timing of shut downs, isolation of services, deliveries etc.
Isolation, strip out and removal of existing services. New lighting and emergency lighting with LED fittings and automatic control systems for occupancy detection where required. Cat 6 structured voice / data systems. Access control systems. Closed circuit CCTV surveillance system. Nurse / staff / patient call system modifications. Fire detection and alarm system modifications. Utility & mechanical power supplies. Testing, commission, labelling, certification and provision of operations and maintenance manuals.
